Kung Fu Panda

Kung Fu Panda, 3 out of 4 stars.

Oogway: Today is a gift, that's why they call it "present".

Kung Fu Panda, directed by Mark Osborne and John Stevenson. The story of this movie is about a panda named Po (Jack Black) who is an apprentice noodle maker, he likes kung fu and one day, he has been chosen as the Dragon Warrior to save the world and to fight a villain, Tai Lung (Ian McShane) who has been trained by a kung fu master, the Shifu (Dustin Hoffman). Shifu also trained five of the greatest warriors, Master Monkey (Jackie Chan), Master Tigress (Angelina Jolie), Master Viper (Lucy Liu), Master Mantis (Seth Rogan), and Master Crane (David Cross). On the other part, Tai Lung escaped from the prison (pretty quick), and he's on the way to the village and wanted to have the dragon scroll. Five of the warriors are trying to stop him but they can't because Tai Lung is too strong, so before all the hope seem lost, Shifu has trained the lazy Panda to become a Kung Fu Panda. First of all, the movie is quite funny, but not as funny as I expected. The way the panda move, expression, dialouge, is quite funny and stupid. Besides that, the story is simple, and some part of the movie are predictable. Moreover, this movie has a lot of action sequences, fighting scene and Panda falling from the sky and it wont die. The fighting scene is pretty cool, very eye popping. The martial art they learned in this movie is very great, most of the skill Panda used is stomach and his butt (heh heh). But some part of the action seems like taken from "The Matrix Revolutions". There is one part where the panda fall from the sky and hit the ground. It similar with the part where the Agent Smith hit Neo from the sky and hit the ground straight. This movie also used a lot of slow motion technique which is make the situation look more funny, and I quite admire the visual effects, it's great. The music used in this movie also great which composed by Hans Zimmer and John Powell and it's contain a lot of Chinese Symphony music. This movie is good, funny but cannot make it to my best animation of the year list. Anyway, still worth watch it.
