10,000 BC 2.5 out of 4 stars.
10,000 BC directed by Roland Emmerich who brought you "The Day After Tomorrow" in 2004 and "Independence Day" in 1996. The story begin with a young mammoth hunter, D,leh who their village called him a hero because of killing mammoth, he has only two friends, Tic Tac and Evolet who he fall in love with. At night, a bunch of raiders came and kinapped several of the tribe including Evolet. So D,leh have to travel to desert and jungle to save her. In his travel, he met alot of friends and learned their culture and face alot of weird nature. From the beginning of this movie, it cannot catch any audience attention, it's like very boring. But after you watch through 30 minutes of the movie, the story started to become more interesting. The plot are going too slow from the beginning, and after 30minutes running times it's moving faster and faster. Overall the story is quite nice, it is quite reality for us but for the them (the character inside the movie) is myth and prophecy, actually everything happen are all coincident, so it really fun to watch their reaction, thinking and mindset. The acting is nice, the actor (Steven Strait) and actress (Camilla Mille) are fit for this movie, especially the actress, she quite charming in this movie. For the visual effects, its quite good for some parts of the movie, but there is one part that I quite dissapointing is the slow motion they use in this movie. The slow motion used at the action sequences at the pyramid are sucks especially the final part where the a big gold fell down from the pyramid. Luckily this movie used few slow motion. Its really destroy the feeling of "real". Overall, Roland Emmerich done a good job for direct this movie. It's better than "The Day After Tomorrow". Although many critics have given this movie negative reviews, but still I give it credit.
